Woke up this morning, rain. We took our time packing, eating breakfast and loading and by the time we were under way the rain had stopped and the sky was clearing, sort of. A nice brisk start to the day at 11 degrees C. It was always going to be cool coming back up here at this time of year. At least there is no snow. It didn't get much warmer than that during the day either.
A quiet and short day today with primarily travel to Seattle, spend some time looking around here and wash the bike ready for hand-over tomorrow. It's clean now but it started to shower as we walked back from dinner so it may get a final drenching and dirty again tomorrow.
Went for a walk around the central business area with particular emphasis on going to the Pike Street Markets. These markets are a Farmers Market and are in action every day. The market is famous for the Pike Place Fish Company. These guys put on a performance at intervals during the day, tossing a fish back and forth over the fish stand. The throwing is accompanied with lots of talk and challenges to the onlookers to participate.
After a look around, we took a walk to the Seattle Space Needle, a well known landmark, then back to the motel to wash the bike. Nothing very exciting to talk about tonight, I hope it's not getting too boring. Things are probably a bit subdued for us as we are nearing the end of what has been a fantastic ride.
Last night on the road, tomorrow we arrive back at Fort Langley where we know John and Terry are waiting to meet us. I think John just wants his bike back :).
I have updated the Ride Story Header Page, the one with the list of days/dates, with a list of the states we have visited on the trip. If they don't show, click on the reload button at the top of the page.
